Oamaru Operatic proudly announces the Network Waitaki season of Les Miserables, the world - favourite musical sensation.
Based on Victor Hugo's 1862 novel, Les Miserables is a blazing pageant of life and death at the barricades of political and social revolution in 19th century France. The Tony-award winning score by Boublil and Schönberg with lyrics by Kretzmer is a work of huge energy and operatic intensity.
Songs range from the joyous Master of the House to the haunting Empty Chairs at Empty Tables. Fantine's I Dreamed a Dream and Eponine's On My Own have become major hits.
