Prokoviev's musical tale for children, Peter and the Wolf, is brought to life by New Zealand diva Helen Medlyn, conductor Repert D'Cruze and the Manukau Symphony Orchestra. Be enchanted by the chirping bird and quacking duck telling the story of Peter, his Grandfather and the Wolf.
This special one-hour concert also includes famous movie themes - 'Lord of the Rings' from Fellowship of the Ring and 'Raiders March' from Indiana Jones. And there is no shortage of young talent, with NZ violinist Ngaru Aroha Martin, aged 16, performing Sarasate's thrilling Introduction and Tarantelle, and South American cellist Santiago Canon Valencia, aged 14, peforming a selection of Tchaikovsky's virtuoso Rococo Variations.
Part of the Manukau Festival of Arts 2010.
