Nelson Arts Festival presents CATHERINE CHIDGEY: FOUND PROSE

Nelson Arts Festival presents CATHERINE CHIDGEY: FOUND PROSE

It's official: Catherine Chidgey's The Wish Child is the best novel in New Zealand this year.

Her story, set in World War II Germany, won big at the 2017 Ockhams, and now she's released her experimental new novel, The Beat of the Pendulum. She created it by writing down a snippet of heard dialogue every day - from TV, family discussions, and a touch of eavesdropping. Hear how she pulled it off, in conversation with Jacquetta Bell.
